When most couples decide it is time to start a family they expect that within a few months they will be pregnant, but that is not always the case. Most doctors recommended that couples under the age of 35 try for at least a year before visiting with a medical professional and those over 35 try for six months.
When couples do begin the process of seeing a doctor most will start with their own family physician or the woman’s gynecologist before seeking help from a fertility clinic.
Most gynecologists and family doctors can run some base line tests that can tell a lot about what is happening during the monthly cycle.

Prostate pain is unusual unless there is a serious problem so all men should be very cautious about any kind of pain in the abdomen and bones. Prostate pain might indicate a very serious condition in advanced stages. When prostate problems first appear, there may not be any symptoms at all. For this reason, all men over fifty should consult with their doctor on a yearly basis. The prostate is a small part of the reproductive system of men. Most men experience few problems with their prostate before the age of fifty. The tests that are available are usually very accurate, and these tests will help a doctor diagnose a disease in the very early stages before there is any kind of prostate pain.

The first trimester of pregnancy is the first 12 weeks. This is a key time in your body. It’s a good idea to take Folic Acid supplements and prenatal vitamins as soon as you discover you are pregnant. You should also abstain from drugs and alcohol from this point forward. Fetal development in the first trimester is rapid and your body goes through vast changes between the conception of your pregnancy and childbirth’s time. While most miscarriages occur in the first trimester of pregnancy, many women have successful pregnancies on their first try.

New Zealand, Maori women are called to quit smoking especially when pregnant because chances are they will threaten the lives of their unborn child. The Public Health Association’s conference in Waitangi, New Zealand told the media that 50 per cent of Maori women still smoke and 80 per cent of this group continued to smoke during pregnancy. This sounds like an emergency because the Maoris have the second highest rate of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) in the world. We know that smoking during pregnancy also accounted for higher rates of asthma, burns and fire deaths, childhood cancer, pneumonia, and developmental delay. These women should concern themselves on going to their OB-gynes and know about Choosing a Pediatrician. How about baby birth announcements, anyone?

I’ve been on this method of birth control for two years and I cannot even imagine ever going off of it. I only have to deal with cramps and headaches every three months instead of monthly. My periods have ceased to only three days. I’ve never had a pregnancy scare and my personality doesn’t scare people away for a few days every month. A few friends of mine, who are not married, have mentioned that they could not deal with only having their period every three months. To them, a skipped period could be a major pregnancy scare. To me, having already given birth to a child and being married for several years, a pregnancy scare isn’t a big deal to me. I simply include taking my birth control pill a part of my daily routine. I brush my teeth; I take my birth control pill. As long as I always brush my teeth, I know that I’m sticking to routine and never have to worry about other means of birth control.
